From residueto refinery spec.

Our thermochemical process is developed and owned entirely by our team — no licensed IP, no royalty dependency. Five steps take agricultural residue to a certified fuel that a diesel engine cannot tell apart from fossil.

01 — How it works

The science behind the transformation

A precise thermochemical and catalytic pathway, developed entirely in India, from farm residue to market-ready fuel.

Five steps. Each one has a specification the batch must meet before it moves on.

  • 01
    Feedstock collection and verification

Agri-waste and agro-industrial by-products are sourced from regional farms and food processing units. Every batch is characterised and verified against our feedstock specifications — moisture content, organic composition, energy potential — before acceptance.

    Out — verified residue
  • 02
    Pre-treatment and preparation

Incoming feedstock undergoes proprietary pre-processing — drying, sizing and conditioning — to reach the precise physical and chemical state required for optimal conversion efficiency in the downstream reactor.

    Out — reactor-ready feed
  • 03
    Thermochemical conversion

The core of the Greenjoules process. Prepared feedstock enters the proprietary thermochemical reactors at our plants, where controlled temperature, pressure and residence time convert organic material into bio-crude — a raw intermediate with high energy density.

    Out — bio-crude
  • 04
    Catalytic upgrading and refining

Bio-crude undergoes catalytic hydrotreatment and distillation, upgrading its molecular structure to match fossil fuel specifications precisely. This is the step where waste becomes a product indistinguishable from what leaves a petroleum refinery.

    Out — finished fuel fractions
  • 05
    Testing, certification and dispatch

Final product is tested against BIS:1460 and international standards, certified, and dispatched to customers through existing fuel logistics infrastructure. No special handling. No dedicated supply chain. It simply replaces fossil diesel — at scale.

    Out — certified, dispatched

Fuels that are better in every way that matters

Each Greenjoules product is a drop-in replacement for its fossil counterpart — identical performance, same supply chain, a fraction of the carbon footprint.

Renewable Diesel

Chemically identical to fossil High Speed Diesel. A drop-in replacement needing no engine modification, with ultra-low sulphur and among the lowest lifecycle carbon footprints of any liquid fuel available today.

  • Drop-in for fossil diesel — zero modification
  • Meets BIS:1460 and IS19275
  • Ultra-low sulphur — exceeds Euro VI
  • Under 25g CO₂ per equivalent km, lifecycle
  • Agri and agro-industrial waste feedstock only

Bionaphtha

A renewable naphtha fraction — petrol-equivalent in energy density, dramatically lower in carbon intensity. Suitable both for petrol blending chains and as a petrochemical process feedstock.

  • Petrol-equivalent renewable fraction
  • Meets IS19275 for renewable naphtha
  • Petrochemical process feedstock application
  • Carbon intensity far below fossil naphtha
  • Derived entirely from agri-waste feedstocks

03 — Circular economy

Nothing leaves as waste

Our biorefinery model ensures every input generates value. By-products are upcycled into high-value applications rather than disposed of.

Zero hazardous waste is generated in our process.

Biochar

Soil amendment and long-duration carbon sequestration.

Refined silica

Extracted from the biochar stream for industrial use.

Activated carbon

Filtration and industrial process applications.

LPG-equivalent fraction

A renewable gas fraction recovered during refining.
